The Selbach family are relative newcomers to the Mosel wine scene, as their family winery is only 400 years old, in a region that has been home to some of the world’s great white wines for over 2000 years. Here, in the middle Mosel, their prestigous, steeply sloped vineyards are composed predominantly of prized primeval blue Devonian slate, providing a core of bright minerality that runs through all of their wines. Their Kabinett Riesling is sourced from the Himmelreich vineyard in the village of Zeltinger. It is medium-dry with vibrant, zippy acidity featuring notes of green apple, yellow peach, and tarragon with a saline mineral backbone.
